Oelwein -- Dana Joe Schulmeister of 219 5th Ave SE died Monday at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo. He was 34.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oelwein with the Rev Clement J Burke officiating. Friends may call after 2 pm Wednesday at the Jamison Funeral Home in Oelwein where there will be parish rosary at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein.
Schulmeister graduated from the Oelwein Community High School in 1974 and lived in Oelwein all of his life. He was a ham radio operator and was a member of Scared Heart Catholic Church. He never married.
He is survived by his parents Joseph J. and Verlaine Schulmeister of Oelwein a sister Mary Kaye Alber of Oelwein one niece and two nephews.
A memorial fund has been established for Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
