He succumbed to cancer of the esophagus and cirrhosis of the liver at his residence of 2855 Eads at 2:00 AM on October the 3Rd 1957. He was 57 years of age. His funeral was held at Witt Brother's Livery and Undertaking Company located at 2929 South Jefferson Ave. in the City of Saint Louis. He was laid to rest at the Saint Marcus Cemetery on October the 5Th 1957. He was later subsequently disinterred and his casket-ed remains were moved and re-interred in the Stanton Cemetery in Franklin County Missouri.
His son Archie Heady Jr. followed in his father's footsteps and also became a Saint Louis Police Officer.
