Love Countyβ Bruce was born on a farm east of Orr, Okla., Aug. 27, 1923, to Cecil and Addie Walker, the third of seven children. Bruce passed away in McAllen, Texas, on Sunday, March 22, 2015, peacefully in his sleep from complications of dementia.
There will be a graveside service where he will be laid to rest at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2015, at the Orr Cemetery in Love County.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert Cecil Walker and Addie Rogers Walker; brothers, Paul, Earl and Melvin; and sisters, Dorothy Lyle and Mary Frances Trammell.
Survivors are his brother, Charles Walker, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; daughters, Carmel (Walker) Contreras and husband, John, Heather Walker and Cheryl (Walker) Mullennix and husband, Tim; son, Bruce Daryl Walker; grandchildren, Taryn, Jill, Amanda, Tracey and Taylor; great-grandchildren, Emma, Lily, Ryan, Ruby, Dylan, Simon and Ellie; and countless cousins, nieces and nephews.
