He was a retired trailer salesman and active in commercial air-conditioning. He had also been a radio announcer with KMOX in St. Louis, Missouri, where he broadcast the first baseball game in St. Louis.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs Mary Holmes of San Bernardino; two sons, Emerson Jr. of Tustin; and William Edwin of Long Beach; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were held in Mountain View Cemetery with Grove Colonial Mortuary directing.
