WILLIAM WALTER HOLLARS, age 65, of 209 N. Mulberry, Cambridge City, [in Wayne County, IN] passed away unexpectedly early Friday in Brookville [in Franklin County, IN] following a heart attack.
He was born September 19, 1924, in Parnell, Kentucky, a son of the former Noba [sic, Nova] CRABTREE and R.Z. HOLLARS. He was employed at Chrysler Corp. before retiring in 1977 after 31 years of employment.
A veteran of World War II, he was a member of the American Legion and the Wayne County Sheriff's Association.
Survivors include his wife, the former ELVA BLEVINS; five daughters, Barbara (Mrs. Jerry) HOWARD of New Castle, Sherry (Mrs. Sammy) VAUGHN of Mt. Summit, Susan (Mrs. Jim) KEEVER of New Castle, Jannie (Mrs. Phil) KETRING of Cambridge City and Beverly (Mrs. Thomas) ISBELL of New Castle; two sons, Jerry of Markleville and Garry [sic, Larry] of Indianapolis; 14 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; three brothers, Oddie of Monticello and Ralph and Jack, both of Spiceland; four sisters, Mrs. Lilly DANE, Mrs. Irene SULLIVAN and Mrs. Opal UPCHURCH, all of New Castle and Mrs. Susie WATSON of Petersburg.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Main and Frame Funeral Home in New Castle, with the Reverend Ellis WATSON officiating. Burial will be in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition.
