Succumbs to Long Illness, Death Being Second of the Week in Home
Andover, Ill, Jan 21, 1933.—Mrs. Caroline McDowell, 69 years old, died yesterday afternoon at 2 o’clock in her home, south of the village.
Mrs. McDowell was born in Andover Feb 1, 1863. She had resided here for many years and at one time lived in Alpha.
She had been sick and confined to her bed for a long time, the last days her illness being complicated with pneumonia.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Amy Cookrey (Cooksey) of East Galesburg, one sister, Klara Carlson, at home, a niece, Mrs. Emanuel Gundberg of Andover, and a nephew, Julius Dahlberg of Concord, Neb.
This was the second death in this home this week. William Carlson, a brother of Mrs. McDowell, died suddenly Monday morning while shoveling coal. A sister, Mrs. Emma Louisa Eckwall, died Oct. 14, 1932.
Funeral arrangements for Mrs. McDowell are pending. The body is in the Gustafson Mortuary in Cambridge.
