Son of James (Jim) Henry Daniel Busby and Leona (Wilson) Busby.

Obituary:
Final rites were held Sunday, March 16 at 2 p.m. for William (Bill) Maurice Busby, 17, who died of burns received early Friday morning.

Services were held from Old Union Church, with an overflow crowd in attendance. Nichols Funeral Home directed interment in adjoining cemetery.

James D. (Jim) Busby, father, remains in a serious condition at the Manasco-Maneval Hospital with burns sustained when he attempted to put out the flames that covered Bill. James Busby, a 22-year-old brother, also has burned hands and arms.

The Busby home, located about two miles south of Lynn, also burned following an explosion of an oil can as Bill was attempting to start a fire in the cook stove.

Survivors include the parents; seven brothers, Harvey, Herbert, Howard, James, Jerry, Mitchell and Ronny Busby; five sisters, Patsy and Ann Busby; Mrs. Carolyn Nix, Mrs. Ivolene Martin and Mrs. Aline Browning; one step-brother, two aunts and an uncle.
