Goldie Ida Bennett, 75, Defiance, died at 11:02 a.m. on Friday, July 7, 2006, in Defiance Regional Medical Center.
She was born Feb. 17, 1931, in Defiance, the daughter of William and Christina (Parmenter) Ball. In 1950, she married William Bennett, who died in 1989. She worked at Dinner Bell Foods, retiring in 1978, and was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, and UAW Local 211 retiree club.
Surviving are two sons, David and Ronald (Jackie), Defiance; two sisters, Mrs. Dean (Sylvia) Young and Mrs. Carroll (Dolena) Bergman, Defiance; and three grandchildren and three stepgrandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were: her parents; a son, Rex; six brothers, Roy, Pete, Torrence, Nelson, Junior and Martin Ball; a sister, Mary Ball; and a brother-in-law, Mike Bennett.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John Lutheran Church, Defiance, with Rev. Donald Luhring officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Memory Gardens. Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. Monday at Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home and after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
