Alma Laura Ross, 92, of Gruver, died April 9, 2015 in Daingerfield.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM Monday, April 13, 2015, at the Gruver Cemetery in Gruver, with Bro. Scott Curry, pastor of First Baptist Church of Gruver, and Rev. Donald Ross, her son, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa.

Mrs. Ross was born February 28, 1923 in Amity, Arkansas. She married Melvin Ray Ross on May 26, 1944, and he preceded her in death on March 19, 2004. Alma had been a resident of the Gruver area for over 60 years, moving to Amarillo in 2006, and then later moving to Daingerfield. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Gruver, the Busy Hands Hobby Club and The Red Hat Society.

Alma was also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Janace Ross in 2013.

Survivors include three sons, Ronald Ross of Amarillo, Rev. Donald Ross and wife Brenda of Daingerfield, and Larry Ross of Tilden; daughter, Sandra Blakenship of Gruver; brother, Dean Graves and wife Loretta of Thatcher, Arizona; sister-in-law, Norma Robinson and husband Larry of Amarillo; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Wheel Times, Inc., PO Box 1951, Pampa, Texas 79066-1951.

The body will lie in state at First Baptist Church in Gruver from 3:00-8:00 PM Sunday, April 12, 2015, and the family will receive friends at the church from 5:00-7:00 PM Sunday.
