Florence was the daughter of John Bernard Barker and Grace May Bowen Barker. She grew up in West Baltimore, went to Forest Park High School, graduated from Western Maryland College and married Raymond George Yarrison in 1944. Their children were James Yarrison, Martha Heisey, John Yarrison and Harry Ray Yarrison.
