James J. Caroff and Miss Letitia Mackey, both of Dunlo, were married at 9 o'clock this morning at Our Mother of Sorrows Church, Westmont, by Rev. Father Stephen A. Ward. The bride is a daughter of Mrs. Clarence Jones of Dunlo. The attendants were James B. Caroff, a cousin of the bridegroom, and Miss Agnes Mackey, a sister of the bride. The wedding breakfast was served at one of the local hotels, after which the bridal party returned to Dunlo, where the bridegroom is employed as a miner.

James Joseph Caroff, a local resident, died Saturday at Memorial Hospital, Johnstown. He was 79. Mr. Caroff is survived by his widow, the former Letitia Mackey, and six children, including Dr. Romuald Caroff, a Geistown physician, and Gilbert, a Johnstown lawyer.

CAROFF – James Joseph, 79, Dunlo, died Nov. 21, 1981, at Memorial Hospital. Born May 21, 1902 in Dunlo, son of late Francis and Mare (Corre) Caroff. Preceded in death by son, James Allen, who died Aug. 11, 1978.
Survived by widow, former Letitia Mackey, and these children: Dr. Romuald, married to former Barbara Foy, Windber R.D.2; Theresa, wife of Judge Joseph F. O'Kicki, Johnstown; William, married to former Mary Kathryn Bowers, Windber R.D.2; Gilbert, married to former Julie Ann Hartnett, Johnstown; Sarah, wife of Dr. Charles McElfresh, Wayne; and George, married to former Carol Merritt, Windber R.D.2; and daughter-in-law Betty (Schuster) Caroff, Telford; also 33 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Brother of Elizabeth Fox, Hartford, Conn.; Kathryn Serre, Dunlo; Marie Lafferty, Johnstown; and Joan Simpson, Dundalk, Md. Retired mine foreman.
Family will receive friends after 2 p.m. Monday at Homer J. Funeral Home, Salix, where wake service will be held at 8 p.m. Monday. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, the Rev. Gerard Ream. Interment, church cemetery.
