Jacob Henry Ferryman, 78, father of Mrs. Emma McCarty of Urbana, died in the home of another daughter, Mrs. Lorna Harrington, London, Ohio route three, Friday, May 14. He had been in failing health for several years and seriously ill for nine weeks.
He was born in Clark county, April 28 1876 the son of Henry and Matilda Venrick Ferryman and was a timber cutter most of his life.
Surviving in addition to the daughters are the widow, Ada Pullins Ferryman to whom he was married in September 1913; two other daughters, Mrs. Bertha Cutlip and Mrs. Beatrice Dodds both of London; a brother, John Ferryman of London; 19 grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, three step-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Two daughters preceded their father in death.
Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Schelecty funeral home, London. Interment was made in Summerford cemetery, London. Nephews served as pallbearers.
