son of Ernest and Wilma (Gillis) Burwell. He passed away April 6, 2015 at his daughters home in Clinton, MO.

Ernest graduated in 1971 from Windsor High School in Windsor, MO. He loved playing baseball with all the guys. He was the second baseman for the team. Ernest also was an avid pool player, winning many tournaments and especially enjoyed fishing.

His dogs Sassy and Betty Boop were his constant companions while out on the road—-“his road dogs”. Following in his dads footsteps he was an over the road driver for 36 years. He experienced many adventures and had the opportunity to see most of the United States. When Google maps had a problem it asked him for directions!

Ernest was preceded in death by his father and stepmother, Ernest and Verda Burwell, Sr., mother, Wilma Gillis and sister Diana Baumann.

He is survived by his children, Jill, Jennifer and Jason all of Clinton, MO, 9 grandchildren and his two tiny Chihuahuas, Sassy and Betty Boop. Also surviving is brother James Burwell and sister, Pam Stevens, of Osceola along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.”
