Dorothy Anne Harris Wright, was born on December 20,1921 in Earlville, Illinois to Robert L and Theda Newlin Harris. She passed away on March 27, 2015 in Indianola, Iowa at the age of 93. She attended Earlville schools and graduated from Earlville High School and Northern Illinois Teachers' College. She taught at Schmidt School before joining the WAAC’S in 1943, training at Fort Des Moines. Upon her return she taught at the Boozel School.
On December 15, 1946 she married Leo Wright at her family home in Earlville. After her marriage she worked with her husband Leo in the business and raised 4 children. She also worked several years as a librarian at the Earl Township Library.
Survivors include 4 children: Ruth Wright-Piros (James Piros), Susan Wright (William) Dooley, Kenneth Wright (Ricardo Quant), John (Linda) Wright, her sister: Phebe Thompson and her sister-in-law: Berniece Harris. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren: Shana Dooley (Duncan) York, Laura Dooley (Kenneth Glenn), and Peter Wright and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Wright and three brothers, John (in infancy), Keith Harris, and Bob Harris and infant grandson, David Dooley.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at United Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Del Keilman officiating. Burial of her urn will follow in Precinct Cemetery rural Earlville. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 1st in the church until the time of services. Arrangements were entrusted to Hanley-Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Earlville. Memorials preferred to Earlville Presbyterian Church or the Earlville Historical society.
