Dale "Jiggs" Davidson 84, a former Mobridge resident who had been living in Loveland, Colo., died Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at Alterra Sterling House of Loveland where he had been a resident.

He was born Sept. 16, 1921, in Aberdeen to Archie and Blanche (Ernst) Davidson.

On Sept. 2, 1944, he married Mildred "Millie" Engel in Tampa, Fla., while he was in the military.

In 1953, Dale and Roy Davidson and R.W. Miller bought the Coca Cola Bottling Company in Mobridge for $250,000. Dale became associated with Roy Davidson in Davidson Chevrolet Inc. in Mobridge in 1959. After Roy moved to Denver, his son Roger and Ruben Quenzer joined Dale in the business under the name Davidson-Quenzer Chevrolet.

Dale later retired from the business and he and Millie moved to Loveland in 1965. In 1969 they moved to Canon City, Colo., and then returned to Loveland in 2003.

Survivors are two daughters, Dayle Davidson (Ted Gilbert) of Loveland and Toni Davidson Berreth (Ken) of Sioux Falls; one brother, Nick Davidson and wife Barbara of Loveland; one sister, Virginia Davis of Gering, Neb.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

His wife, Millie, and his parents preceded him in death.

Private graveside services were at Lakeside Cemetery in Canon City.
