Edgar Elam Liebe, born on May 17, 1921 in San Antonio, TX left to be with the Lord on May 15, 2008 at the age of 86.

He was born to Pauline (Polly) Eckert and Frederick Liebe in a tent at the corner of Huebner and USAA Blvd.

He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Carol S. Nelson Liebe. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Wallace Oliver, Sylvia Sproat, John Nelson and Diana Pedraza; his sisters Estelle Hogan and Marilyn Anderson; nephews/nieces, Gene Serene (Cindy), Judith Janney, Fred Liebe, and Steve Liebe; daughter-in-law Susan Stevenson; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; cousin, Inez Kasper.

He was preceded in death by wives Leona Oliver, Billy Chapman Liebe; stepson Romie Stevenson; and siblings Arthur, Laura, Dorothy, August and Nell.

He grew up during the Great Depression where his parents were dairy farmers and went to school at Lockhill Elementary and Edison High School.

He graduated in 1939 and joined the Marine Corps in 1942. He was an airplane mechanic and did a tour in Guadalcanal finishing his duty in California.

While living in Southern California he worked for an Air Conditioning Contractor before moving back to San Antonio.

After getting back to San Antonio, he was in the dairy business and had farms throughout the area. He moved to Lytle and continued to do the dairy and produce business until 1978 when he moved to Boerne to retire.

The family would like to thank Dr. Bucay and his staff for all their support during his illnesses.

A Visitation will be held Saturday, May 17, 2008 from 5 pm till 8 pm at Vaughan's Funeral Home, 319 E. San Antonio Ave., Boerne, TX 78006. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Vaughan's Funeral Home.
