Cora’s father was a veteran of the Civil War.
Sgt. Robert C. Maupin served in Co. F, 5th TN Calvary, CSA, from Sept. 1862 to June 1865. In 1891, he was awarded an Invalid’s Pension.
Cora’s uncle, Dr. Robert Couch, was the Regimental Surgeon of the 5th TN Calvary, and another uncle, Capt. Reuben Couch, was the officer of her father’s Company.
In 1878, when she was 16, Cora married Andrew Jackson Schriver in Bedford Co. TN. Andrew was a Conductor for the Southern Kentucky Railroad. They moved to Knoxville, Knox Co., TN.
In 1887 the Estate of Catherine Patton Couch, Cora’s grandmother, was settled. Cora received her deceased mother’s portion of the Estate in the amount of $92.66.
Cora and Andrew had 8 children.
James H., 1885-1886, and another child born between 1880-1900 whose name is not known.

Orlando Hazard, 1897-1976
Cora and Andrew’s sons were successful businessmen in Knoxville. Orlando was President of the Imperial Foundries Co.
Robert, Titus and Zannie owned Schriver’s Brothers, Inc, a store that described itself as “Clothiers, Hats, and Gents Furnishings”
Cora and Andrew are buried here with 3 of their children who died young..
