Valis Leon Rein, 77, of Abilene, died Monday, March 22, 2010, in Abilene. Born Jan. 31, 1933, on the family farm near Bazine, the son of Fred and Clara (Stieben) Rein Jr. On Dec. 30, 1954, married JOYCE RUGGLES. Survivors include his wife, Joyce, of the home; one daughter, Vicki Gieber; four sons, Johnny Rein, Verlyn Rein, Ronald Rein and Curtis Rein, all of Abilene; two sisters, Glendoris Blattner of Rozel and Genelda Gumescheimer of Great Bend; a brother, Leland Rein of Bazine; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and other relatives. Preceded in death by a brother, Cletus Rein.
