Charles DeWayne "C.D." Edwards was called home to be with our HEAVENLY FATHER Friday April 3, 2015 with family and friends by his side. C.D., 67, lived his life to the fullest and will always be remembered for his love and generosity. He was born in Conroe Texas on July 8, 1947.
He got his criminology degree from Sam Houston State University and was a detective for the Conroe Police Department for over ten years. He later moved to Centerville Texas where he became employed as Plant Manager at K.P. Oil for over 16 years. Upon retirement, he became a rancher where he cared for his animals and enjoyed time hunting and fishing.
C.D. is preceded in death by his parents, Barnie and Gena Edwards, and his wife Marilyn Edwards.
He is survived by his son, Russell Edwards and wife Erica of Spring, Texas; grandson Evan Edwards of Spring, Texas; sisters: Linda Garrett and husband Dana of Conroe, Texas, Joyce Mixon of Conroe, Texas, Betty Sitton and husband James of Deer Park, Texas, Lorita Dunahoe of The Woodlands, Texas; Brothers, Barnie Edwards and wife Susan of Bandera, Texas, and Jerry Edwards of Dallas, Texas; and his loving friend, Vicki McComb; many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.
Visitation will be at Cashner Funeral Home on April 6 from 6-8. Funeral services will be in the Cashner Colonial Chapel on Tuesday April 7, 2015 at 12:30 P.M. Burial will follow in the Mitchell Cemetery in New Waverly, Texas.
