Mrs. Delia A. Prindle Scott, wife of Warren L. Scott, died at her home on Hayes street, Tuesday afternoon, after an illness, which will varying severity, made her an invalid for nearly a quarter of a century. She was the daughter of Seth Prindle, and was born at Unadilla, Otsego Co, NY., October 13, 1837. In her girlhood the family moved to Cincinnatus, Cortland County, and afterward to Addison, Steubin County, and Richburg, Allegany county. It was at the last place that she made the acquaintance of Warren L. Scott, to whom she was married, at Richburg, October 3, 1865. In May, 1866, Mr. Scott removed to Norwich, where he has been since made his home. During her early residence in Norwich Mrs. Scott was active and influential in the church and social life of the community, but poor health compelled her to give up this activity, and for the past twenty-five years she has been an invalid, being confined to her home a considerable portion of the time. Throughout all her afflictions, however, she maintained a cheerful disposition, which was a revolution to those who were intimate with her and who knew of her suffering. She was passionately fond of children, her life being consecrated to the care of her own, and in later years her heart going out in all its fullness and tenderness to those who called her "Grandma." Shut in, to a great extent, from the sunshine of the outdoor world, she yet shed upon those with whom she came in contact, and especially upon the members of her own household, the purer sunshine of a true love and a loving devotion-a sunshine which even the continued affliction of years could not becloud. She is survived by her husband, who during her long continued illness has given her the tenderest of loving attention, and by three children-May, wife of Rev. Edwin B. Olmstead of Binghamton; Frank, wife of Mark F. Brown, of this village, and John P., a student at Oberlin University. She was a sister of the late Elizur H. Prindle. The funeral services will be services will be held from her late residence on Friday morning, at eleven o'clock. Rev. Samuel Moore, pastor of the Broad Street Methodist Episcopal church, officiating. Burial will be in the family plot at Mt. Hope. [The Union, April 8, 1899]
