She was married to Walter Pireaux (1942-1964) and Cyril Phinney (1968-1976). Gladys had one sister, Lillian C McDonald, and one son: Stuart Allen Ackley (2/4/1923-3/2/1981) born out of wedlock (father Joseph Corcoran) who was adopted by her father Charles Ackley.
