Winifred Manning was born December 13, 1880, in Elk Point, South Dakota to James and Catherine Herrity Manning. She came to Kalispell in 1901 and on February 8, 1921, she was married to Joe O'Connell. They continued to make Kalispell and the Flathead Valley their home.
Mr. O'Connell died in Kalispell March 7, 1938.
Mrs. O'Connell is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Charles Emmert; Miss Grace Manning, and Mrs. Percy McClarty, all of Kalispell; and three brothers, J. Walter Manning and Guy Manning both of Kalispell, and Ambrose Manning of Portland, Oregon. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She died at her home, 1127 South Main Street in Kalispell, Saturday morning at the age of 71 years.
