KENNON-Jasper Lee Kennon, entered eternal life on February 17, 2009 in Covina. Jasper was born December 16, 1920 in McKenzie, Tenn. His family moved to California when he was 7 years old. He graduated from Covina High School. He met and married Barbara Alice Gilbert on November 23, 1940. They were married 68 years. Jasper and Barbara lived in El Monte most of their lives. They raised two sons, Ronald Eugene and Rodger Lee. Jasper worked for Southern Pacific for 42 years until his retirement. In 1943 he served three years in the Army. Jasper was preceded in death by oldest son, Ronald. He is survived by his wife Barbara, son Rodger (Peggy) and daughter-in-law Nancy, 6 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was very active for over 50 years in the First Baptist Church in El Monte. Services will be held at Oakdale Mortuary in Glendora. Viewing will be Friday, February 27, 2009 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. and Chapel services on Saturday, February 29 at 3:00 P.M. We love and miss you very much, Grandpa.
