She was married to Fred W Hulshorst June 23,1929. to this union was born Patricia Ann Hulshorst.
Hester retired from Tawney's Jewelers , Gallipolis, in 1970 after 20 yrs of service. She was a member of the Rodney United Methodist Church Community
She and Fred had a lovely home on Berkart Lane , where she was a master flower gardner. She worked relentlessly to keep her flowers and yard in a beautiful way . In, 1981, Fred and Hester purchased a home on Fourth Avenue, near the grade school. They fixed the house up and Hester planted her flowers .Prior to their moving from the Lane to Fourth, Fred became sick... and passed away before ever living in the home.
Hester lived in the house on Fourth for many years. She was a great neighbor, but as her health declined, she realized that the best place to be was with Pat and her grandchildren.
After much thought about leaving her home in Gallipolis, Hester moved to Rancho Palos Verdes , Ca, leaving behind her Fourth Avenue neighbors.
Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband Fred, who passed away September of 1982. and her son in law , Don Van Putten
Surviving her is her daughter, Patricia Van Putten, a grandson Steve (Marie) Van Putten, a granddaughter Karen (Kurt) Limoreaux , and two
Step grandson David and Steven Laolagi, all from California
