On July 13, 1946, Helen married Robert F. Jones, Jr. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wichita Falls. In 1954 the couple moved to Dallas.
Helen was a stay at home mother who devoutly volunteered in her Catholic community and for over 22 years for "Meals on Wheels". She was an outstanding seamstress who made all of her daughter's clothes along with an abundance of ballet costumes.
Helen and Bob were travelers who journeyed about the United States, Europe, and made a total of 14 trips to Australia to visit their son and his family. Her last trip there was in September 2014, at the age of 91.
In 2007, Helen moved to Montgomery, TX where she continued to volunteer her time and serve with the April Sound Ladies Association and Musical Sounders.
Helen is survived by two daughters and a son: Jeanne (Marty Getz of Montgomery), Patti (Bill Porretto of Kaukauna, WI), and David (Julia Jones of Laura, Victoria, Australia). She had 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Also survived are her niece Ellise McDonald and nephew John Powell along with their respective families and many others in her vast extended family and friends.
