Christened on Feb 24 1850 at the Follmers Evangelical Church in Turbot Twp., Northumberland Co., Pennsylvania.

Enlisted in Company H, Pennsylvania 53rd Infantry Regiment on 23 Oct 1861 at Stevensburg, Virginia. His enrollment card shows he was from Milton, Pennsylvania, and was 20 years old when he was promoted to Full Sergeant on 22/24 Dec 1863. Mustered out on 30 Jun 1865 at Washington, DC.

Joseph is living with his sister, Mary, and brother-in-law, R.M. Cummings, in the 1870 Chillisquaque, Northumberland, PA census, working as a farm laborer. No known wife or children for Joseph.

Andy Simon (#48504122) where he referenced it as; I wish I knew more but I don't. I found the photo among some old family papers and mementos from central PA, so I looked up where a Civil War veteran named Joseph Albright might be buried, and based on his Find-A-Grave memorial, I determined my picture was of the man buried at Follmer Lutheran Church Cemetery.
