Deceased Name: M. Loraine Rider, 97, Columbia
M. Loraine Rider, 97, of St. Anne's Home and Village, 3952 Columbia Ave., Columbia, died there early Sunday morning of natural causes.

Formerly of 30 S. 8th St. and St. John's -- Herr Estate, both of Columbia, Mrs. Rider was a homemaker.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Columbia, where she participated in the St. John's Quilters and Lutheran Church Women groups.

She enjoyed quilting, making Raggedy Ann dolls and flower-gardening.

Born in Stonybrook, she was a daughter of the late John E. and Myrtle Hartzell Chronister.

Her husband, Carl P. Rider, died in 1984.

She is survived by a son, Gerald C. of Lowell, Mich., and three daughters, Irene G., wife of John W. Bard, and Linda L., wife of Walter Shaub, both of Columbia; and Carol, wife of Robert H. Zook, of Centerville; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
