George H. "Boots" Wagner, 95, of New Brighton, died Tuesday March 31, 2015 at Good Samaritan Hospice.

Born February 22, 1920, in Dillonvale, OH, he was the son of the late Louis and Ethel (Bacsi) Wagner. He was a retired operating engineer of the Local 66. Boots was a member of the Beaver Valley Archery Association and the Monaca Center Lodge No. 791. He was the founding member of the Beaver Valley Archery Association and archery was his passion. He won hundreds of metals and trophies in local, state and national archery competitions and participated in The National Senior Games for nearly 20 years where he won many gold and silver metals.

He was married to the former Doris Mateer. They were married for 66 years until her death in 2014. Also preceding him in death were his six brothers, Joe, Lou, Paul, August, Johnny and Ambrose; and four sisters, Margaret, Ethel, Irene and Mary.

He is survived by his two children, Jane Mihalko (George Klinger) of New Brighton and Jack (Joy) Wagner of Monaca; six grandchildren, Danielle, Rebecca, Michael, Stacy, Nichole and George Jr.; and eight great-grandchildren, Alexia, Meghan, Zach, Ariana, Levi, Morgan, Lily and Colton.
