Judith D. Ballengee, age 72, of Mount Vernon passed away on Monday, March 30, 2015 at the Ohio Eastern Star Home.
She was born on September 11, 1942 in Vinton County, Ohio to the late Kyle and Martha (Hill) Newhart. Judith was a waitress for many years. She enjoyed gardening and flowers and loved to cook and bake. Judith owned her own catering business and attended church regularly throughout her life.
She is survived by her husband Dennis Ballengee; her daughter Angela Lukong; her son Ulrich (Malinda) Utt; four step-sons Rob (Donna) Ballengee, Scott (Christina) Ballengee, Jason (Rachel) Ballengee, Brad (Linda) Utt; her step-daughter Robbin Ballengee; her granddaughter Athena Utt; numerous step-grandchildren; her brother Donald (Gail) Newhart; her brother and sister in law Robert (Debbie) Ballengee; her very special friend Tay Taylor; and her canine companions, Hansel, Gretle, Rusty, Rebel and Chockey.
Besides her parents, Judith was preceded in death by her brothers, Brady Ballard, Richard Newhart and Bob Newhart.
Friends may call on Monday, April 6, 2015 from 11-1PM at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home. A service will follow beginning at 1PM with Rev. Marvin Haught officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown.
