Elsie Mae Grow, age 80 of Maryville died Tuesday, January 8, 2002 at her home. She was a member of Piney Level Baptist Church and was a Licensed Vocational Nurse. She lived in Port Lavaca for 33 years where she worked at the local hospital and for Dr. A.W. Kelton.
Preceded in death by: Parents, Jake and Sarah Whitehead; Brother, Jake Clyde Whitehead; Sister, Dorothy Dockter. Survivors include: Husband of 64 years, Harold Grow; Daughter and Son-in-law, Barbara & Murray Cox of Maryville; Grandchildren, Brian David Cox and Clay Douglas Cox and wife Rachael; Great grand-daughter, Chelsea Lynn Cox; Sisters and Brothers- in-law, Wilma Imogene & Ollie Chambers of FL and Billie June & Martin Wilds of FL; Brother- in-law, Albert Dockter of Alcoa.
Funeral service will be at 7:00 PM, Friday, January 11, 2002 in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Rev. George Macht of Piney Level Baptist Church officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 12, 2002 at Grandview Cemetery for the interment. Friends may call at their convenience after 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 10, 2002 at Smith Mortuary. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM, Friday, January 11, 2002, Trinity Chapel, Smith Mortuary, Maryville.
