Funeral Of Thomas L. Belcher Held Sunday
Thomas L Belcher, long a resident of this community, died Saturday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. W. Carter, in Birmingham. He was 78 years old and had been in feeble health for several months, but his death was unexpected.

Funeral services were conducted in the First Methodist church here Sunday afternoon by the pastor, Rev. R. T. Tyler, and Rev. T. E. Steely, pastor of the First Baptist church. Burial was in the Roanoke cemetery.

Surviving are the daughter, Mrs. Carter, and three sisters: Mrs. J. W. Danielly, Roanoke; Mrs. Fannie Howell, LaFayette; Mrs. Anna Bachus, Temple, Texas; and several grandchildren. Mr. Belcher came to Roanoke from Chambers county many years ago and was in business here for a long time. He was a member of the Methodist church, a good citizen, and a man with a host of friends.
