Margaret Lusetta (Peacock) DENSLOW, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, devoted aunt, died peacefully in her sleep Wednesday 26 November 1992 in her Jenison, MI home. Her strong Christian family values and convictions continued undaunted throughout her life. Ms. Peacock's early life was filled with music, worship, hard work, and gaining an education in order to pursue her chosen profession of teaching. She began teaching in a one-room K- 8 school at the young age of eighteen years and continued teaching for the next eight years. During the depression, on 26 November 1932, Margaret married Otis Warren Denslow, a road contractor and potato buyer. Over the next thirty plus years,Otis and Margaret lived a full, happy life raising their family on a farm near Weidman, MI. Returning to her educational profession in 1957, she resumed teaching and simulatenously taking college classes in order to complete her B.S. degree and complete requirements for a Michigan Teaching Certificate. Unfortunately, court cases regarding age discimination did not exist until the mid seventies, and Margaret was forced to retire from her beloved profession upon reaching sixty-five years of age. Over the next twenty-two years, she traveled and participated in her grandchildren's performances and graduations from high school and college, remained active in her church, United Methodist, and opened her home to any friend of family member passing by. Living her entire life in Isabella County, MI, she made a lifestyle change selling the Denslow Family Homestead (settled by her husband's grandfather in 1872)and moved to Jenison, MI nearer to her daughter, Carolyn Denslow Baker (in Hudsonville, MI). Margaret's love for her three generations of family members, and three generations of nieces and nephews will never be forgotten. Her husband, Otis Denslow, her parents: Jesse Waldo Peacock and Lusetta Warner, and brothers: George Peacock, Royal Earl Peacock, and Jesse Calvin Peacock and sister Mary Alice Peacock preceded her in death. Margaret is survived by daughter: Carolyn Denslow Baker and her husband, Keith Baker of Hudsonville, MI; sons: Drs.
