Elverda "Bird" R. Baughman

New Waterford- Elverda “Bird” R. Baughman, age 98, of New Waterford, died on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Covington Skilled Nursing Home, East Palestine. She was born on August 27, 1916, in New Waterford, a daughter of the late Willis and Emma Van Skiver Rupert. Of all things in life, Bird was most proud of her family. She is survived by two daughters, Nancy (Jack) Calcott of Rocky River, OH and Betty Marton of Berkeley, CA; a son, Gail (Linda) Baughman of Port St. Lucie, FL; a sister, Lois Boyle of Sebring, OH and a brother, Ralph Rupert of Columbiana. Also surviving are three grandsons, Brian Baughman of Stuart, FL, Sandor (Autumn) Marton of Seattle, WA and Tobias (Susanna) Marton of San Francisco, CA; two granddaughters, Jennifer (Mark) Boyer of Plymouth, MI and Karen (Bob) Powell of San Francisco, CA and by four great grandsons, Timothy Powell, Jack Powell, Andy Powell and Caden Baughman and by five great granddaughters, Abigail Boyer, Bria Baughman, Elise Marton, Lila Marton and Vivienne Marton. Bird was preceded in death by her husband, William W. Baughman. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 24, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana. The family will receive friends on Friday, from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
