Olen Cortez ‘Corky’ Ray, died peacefully in his sleep on June 29, 2006, with his wife Sybil by his side. Corky’s wit and sense of humor brought a smile to all who knew him. He was an avid fisherman and loved to putter around in his garden. He could plant a twig and a tree would grow. He truly had a green thumb. He was a husband, son, brother and father and was loved by all.
Corky is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Sybil Ray; his sons, Hilton Ray, Richard Luker and wife, Stephanie, William S. Taylor and Annette, Dale Tyler and wife, Vickie; daughters, Sybil Jean and husband Norwood Reese, Rebecca Brewer and husband Bill, Brenda Schroder and Thelma Taylor Abdallah and his mother, Lella Eason and sisters and brothers, Lanita and David Park, Shirley Wilson, Terry and Lilly, Eason and DeWayne Eason; sister in law, Felice Mathison, Peggy Mattes and Gloria and Lawrence Coffee; also 16 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Patsy Ray and their four sons, Kevin, Mike, Wesley and Ronnie Ray.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
