A graveside service for William A. Dewhirst, 78, who died Sunday in a local hospital after a long illness, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lakewood Memorial Park.
A native of Missouri he had lived in the Modesto-Vernalis area since 1921. He was a fruit packing box maker.
He leaves a brother and two sisters, including Beulah Harmon of Vernalis.
