Guy Austin, resident of 1860 11th Street, Arcata, May 10, 1977. He was the husband of Dorothy St. Louis Austin, Arcata; father of Mrs. Leslie R. (Lola) Larson; son of Mrs. Addie Austin; brother of Agnes Taylor and Millard Austin; grandfather of Larry, Bradley, Gregg, Eric Larson. He was prceded in death by two sons, David and Edward Austin, and one sister, Edna Hazen. He leaves several nieces and nephews and many friends.

Mr. Austin was a native of Canary, Ore., age 71 years. In his early life he was a dairyman in the Arcata area. He worked for Hammond Lumber Company and for United Creamery; and he worked as a mechanic at the Ford and Sacchi garages, Arcata, and for the California Barrel Company. He was employed 10 years by the Arcata Union School District as a bus driver and mechanic. He spent most of his time in his retirement years in Douglas City, Trinity County, where he enjoyed his friends, the mountains and wildlife.

Friends are invited to attend services at Field Mortuary, Chapel of the Redwoods, Saturday, May 14, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Andrew Montgomery, officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Arcata.

Casketbearers will be Frank Lee, George O'Neill, Robert Hartman, Walter Sweet, Sam Merryman, Dario Meucci.

Honorary bearers are: Ernest Henry, Curt Moore and John Suhr.

Friends may call at Chapel of the Redwoods, Thursday, 2 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Friday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
