Vera L. Denny, 99, of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away on Friday, March 27, 2015 at Mosaic Life Care surrounded by her family and Pastor Dave Ernst.

She was born on June 11, 1915 in Braymer, Missouri to Bertha (Sturwoldt) and Payton Vanderpool. She was a homemaker and had worked for H.D. Lee as a seamstress. She was of very strong Christian faith. She was a great example in living her life. Vera taught Sunday school at the Lawson Presbyterian and McCarthy Baptist Church where she was a member.

She married Allen K. Denny on December 25, 1941. He preceded her in death on October 22, 1965. She was also preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter, Lisa A. Clark, six sisters and three brothers.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Ryan (Tom) of St. Joseph and one sister, Flora Young of Kansas City, Kansas and nieces and nephews.

Services 1pm Tuesday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. Interment Lawson Cemetery, Lawson, Missouri.
