Eldon Carmack, of Fayette, passed away March 27, 2015 at Ashley Manor in Boonville. He was 91 years old. He was born June 26, 1923 in Bald Hill, Oklahoma to Walter and Bessie Fanning Carmack. He and his wife were married on November 10, 1947 in Milan, Missouri. Mr. Carmack was a farmer. He served his nation with honor during World War II in the United States Navy. He was serving aboard the USS Missouri when the Japanese surrendered. Eldon was a member of Bible Baptist Church in New Franklin and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed his family, working on his farm, gardening and fixing things. He is survived by his wife, daughter, five grandchildren, adopted granddaughter, and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Lawrence Lamar Bell; and by four brothers, Andrew Carmack, Clyde Carmack, Tommy Carmack and Gene Carmack and by two sisters, Hila Linzy and Leila Ayers. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Markland-Yager Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in New Franklin. Arrangements: Markland-Yager Funeral Home, 113 E Broadway, New Franklin, Missouri.
