BURNHEIMER – Herbert J., 91, Johnstown, died Jan. 8, 2015, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Feb. 13, 1923, in South Fork, son of Herbert L. and Marie (Partsch) Burnheimer. Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Anna (Dubay) Burnheimer; and brothers, Carl, Walter and Warren Burnhemier. Survived by his children, John M., married to the former Sharon Petrusic, Johnstown; and Judith, wife of Paul Alimena, Rye, N.Y.; grandchildren, Emily, wife of Michael Murphy; Sara and Michael Burnheimer; and Benjamin and Christopher Alimena; great-grandson, Joseph John Murphy; brother, Forrest R., married to Mary Elizabeth Sexton; godchild, Kathy Rushin; numerous nieces and nephews; and especially Darlene and Stephanie Dubay. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, where he served in New Guinea and received the Good Conduct Medal and Philippines Liberation Ribbon. He was retired from Bethlehem Steel Corp., where he was a machinist in the Lower Cambria Division. He was a resident of McCullough Place and the family would like to thank the administration and staff for the wonderful care they gave to Herbert during his stay there. Herbert was an accomplished wood worker and gardener who loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandson. Friends will be received from 9 a.m. until time of transfer prayers at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John Gualbert Catholic Church, where funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, the Very Rev. James Crookston. Committal, Grandview Cemetery, with military honors by VFW Menoher Post 155 Ritual Team.
