Mary E. Scatton, 75, of Lansdale, died Saturday in North Penn Hospital, Lansdale.
Mrs. Scatton was the wife of the late Peter M. Scatton, who died in 1991. Mr. Scatton was a 1944 graduate of Hazleton High School and, along with his family, founded Scatton Brothers Manufacturing, Hazleton, in 1950.
Born in East Pennsboro Township, Cumberland County, she was one of 12 children of the late Walter Edward and Mary Madaline (Waggoner) Forney.
She was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church, Lansdale, and participated with the United Methodist Women, the Rebecca Circle and Church Women United. For over 20 years, she was a member of the auxiliary of the Towamencin Volunteer Fire Company. She enjoyed gardening and traveling.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents and husband, was an infant son, Joseph Scatton.
Surviving are her children, a son, David R. Scatton, Telford, and daughters, Patricia A. Scatton, Quakertown, Mrs. Kirk (Barbara S.) Lauro, North Wales, Sharon M. Scatton, Lansdale, and Mrs. Douglas (Brenda S.) Hild, East Greenville; three grandchildren; a brother, Wilson Forney, New Cumberland; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral, to take place Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Christ United Methodist Church, 1020 Valley Forge Road, Lansdale.
Interment will take place in Greenlawn Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.
