Donald (Red) O’Connell was born November 3, 1934, to Dan and Dorothy O’Connell in Helena. He joined the United States Navy in 1951, serving in the Korean War. Red attended Carroll College and started working for the telephone company in 1957. In May of 1966, Red married Eva Gillespie. They moved to Billings and retired in Park City in 1997. He is survived by his wife Eva; children Greg Hoffer, Terry Currier, Rita Ortiz, Jeff Hoffer, Anna Williams, John O’Connell and Kelly O’Connell; 20 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren, and a sister and a brother.
