Laura Mae Abner, 78, St. Paul, died at 9:55 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, 1988 in the W.S. Major Hospital, Shelbyville.
She was born Nov. 4, 1909, in Florence, Ky., the daughter of James and Harriett Bryant Phipps. She married William C. Abner, and he preceded her in death in 1960. She had lived in St. Paul since 1960, and before that resided in the Lewis Creek community. She was a member of the Jehovah Witness of Shelbyville.
She is survived by two sons, Albert E. Abner, Shelbyville, and David R. Abner, St. Paul; two daughters, Dorothy Abner, St. Paul, and Mrs. John (JoAnn) Cooper, Shelbyville; three brothers, Fred, Carl and Charles Phipps, all of Decatur County; two sisters, Josephine Stainbrook, Decatur County, and Lucy Moody, Batesville; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sons, two daughters and one sister.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Glenn E. George Funeral Home, St. Paul, with the Rev. Bill Horner officiating.
Burial will be in the Lewis Creek Baptist Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home today from 4 to 8 p.m.
