Mr. Abner was born in Franklin, Ohio, Aug. 30, 1928, the son of William C. Sr. and Laura Phipps Abner.
He had been a resident of the St. Paul area since 1960 and lived in the Lewis Creek community in Shelby County prior to that.
Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Laura Abner of St. Paul; two brothers, Albert E. Abner of Shelbyville and David R. Abner of St. Paul, and two sisters, Dorothy Abner of St. Paul and Mrs. John (JoAnn) Abner of Shelbyville.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Glenn E. George Funeral Home in St. Paul with the Rev. John Cooper officiating. Burial will be in the Lewis Creek Baptist Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
