Maxine Adams, 71, R.R.1, St. Paul, died Tuesday, Aug. 13 at the W.S. Major Hospital in Shelbyville. She was a patient there approximately three weeks.

Adams was born in Shelbyville County March 19, 1914, the daughter of Alonzo and Carrie Bruner McCain. She was married to Allen Adams Aug. 22, 1931, and he preceded her in death July 21, 1970. She was a lifetime resident of the St. Paul community, and a member of the Louis Creek Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Waldron Eastern Star, and the Noble Extension Homemakers Club.

She is survived by two sons, Herbert Adams and Harold R. Adams, both of St. Paul; two daughters, Mrs. Edythe Cannon, Wildwood, Fla., and Mrs. Ruth Ann Westerman, Osgood; three brothers; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Lewis Creek Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jan Hobbs officiating. Burial will be in the Lewis Creek Baptist Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday, at the Glenn E. George Funeral Home in St. Paul, and from 9 a.m. until the service Friday, at the church.
