Funeral services for Mrs. Clara B. Carroon, 79, a local resident since 1906, will be held at the St. Joseph Catholic Church Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Bernard Burgert officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Murphy Mortuary, where the Rosary will be recited this evening at 7:30. Mrs. Carroon whose home was on the Knightstown Road, died at Major Hospital Saturday afternoon after an illness of several months. Death was caused by carcinoma. Born at Bethlehem, Clark County, on September 23, 1879, she was the daughter of John and Florence(Bowman) Arbuckle. She moved to Greenwood in girlhood and on December 5, 1900, she was married to Charles F. Carroon whose death occurred September 28, 1935. Five children were born to the union and three survive, Miss Lena Carroon at home; Mrs. Irene Harmon of Creve Cocur, Mo., and Arnold Carroon of Fowler. An infant daughter died in 1914 and a son, Harold Carroon, died in 1941. Also surviving are nine grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters, Donald Arbuckle and Mrs. Frank Schubert of Indianapolis, Mrs. William Coull of Chicago, and Randolph Arbuckle of Van Buren, Ark. Mrs. Carroon was a member of the St. Joseph Church, a charter member of the Daughters of Isabella, and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Knights of St. John, St. Ann's Altar Society and the Music Study Club.
