Harl H. Ballinger was a lifelong resident of Upland. He died at University Nursing Center, Upland. He started a baking business at age 14 and retired after 48 years in the same location. He was widely known for his cinnamon pecan rolls.
He attended the Jefferson Christian Church and had been a 52-year member of the Arcana Lodge, F&AM No. 427, Upland.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys, two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Mary Lois) Townsend, Bloomington, and Mrs. Ivan (Carol Ann) Slain, Upland; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
