Rick L. Bartlett, age 55, of Marion, passed away after a period of declining health on Monday, March 23, 2015 at The McDowell Hospital. Rick was born in Flint, Michigan on December 7, 1959 and was a son of the late Willie Bartlett and Ruby Roland Elliott. Rick enjoyed art and wood working and also working in his flower garden and doing yard work. He will be remembered by his family as a great husband, father and grandfather. He was just an all-around great person who loved his family and especially his grandchildren. Rick was employed with E.J. Victor in Morganton for 21 years.
Surviving Rick is his wife of 25 years, Vanessa Kirby Bartlett; his step-father, Roger Elliott; three children: Ricky Bartlett and wife Teresa of Glenwood, Becky Cannoy and husband Jimmy of Michigan and Laura Tipton and husband Chad of Marion; three brothers: Doug Bartlett of Old fort, Jackie Bartlett of Marion and Timmy Bartlett and wife Kim of Nebo; one sister, Alma Jamison and husband Howard of Marion; Five Grandchildren :Regina, Summer and Autumn Bartlett, Dawson Tipton and Derious Clifton.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 3:00 pm, in the chapel of
Westmoreland Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Vance officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 pm, prior to the service, at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
