Mr. Ernest Newton Snook (Ernie) went to be with his Lord and Savior, June 1, 2014.

Born March 6, 1927 on the Snook Homestead in Loganton, he was the son of the late Newton and MaryBelle Imes Snook. He was raised on the family farm in Loganton, farming there his entire life.

He was a great husband, father, grandfather, neighbor and friend.

His signature, everyday look was jeans, plain pocketed t-shirt with pencil in pocket, and a pocketknife and red handkerchief in his jeans.

He was predeceased by his parents; a daughter, Gloria Ann Snook; brothers: Lee Snook, Wesley Snook, Irvin Snook, Woodrow Snook, Raymond Glunt; and sisters: Anna Swales, Stella Salamone, Lena Imes, Thelma Confer and Octura Bubb. He is loved and will be missed by his loving wife of 70 years, Gloria; daughter, Dianne (Roy) Keister; sons: Dennis Snook and Jeffrey (Sandra) Snook; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and his brothers: Lucien and Marlin; sisters: Katheryn Startzel and Shelva Brubaker, and family.

He enjoyed his church, family, Farmall tractors, life, and was a great mechanic. He was a longtime member of the Jersey Shore Assembly of God.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the Sugar Valley Church of the Brethren, Eastville, with Pastor Ken Geisewite and the Rev. Richard Jones officiating.

A visitation will be held in the church today from 6-8 p.m. and also on Wednesday one hour prior to the service. Final interment will be held in Fairview Cemetery, Loganton.

The family will provide the flowers. If desired, memorials may be made in Ernie's name to the Sugar Valley Volunteer Fire Co. #13, 24 W. Anthony St., Loganton, PA 17747 or to the Sugar Valley Historical Society, P.O. Box 62, Loganton, PA 17747.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Wayne P. Urbine Funeral Home, Inc., 95 E. Main St., Loganton, PA.
