Married to Reatha (Ackles) Moody on 8-17-1968 at Ord, NE.
Served in the United States Army from October of 1946 until February of 1948. He served in Hiroshima and walked through the ashes of the city where the Atomic Bomb had been dropped during WW II. After the service, He returned to Lincolnville, where he farmed with his father. He then took over the management of the Lincolnville Farmland Co-op for 13 years. In 1961, Virgil was assigned to Ord as the assistant manager of the Farmland Co-op. He then managed and specialized in chemicals at the Ord Farmland Co-op along with North Loup and Ericson for 28 years. Prior to his retirement, he was the interim manager for Farmland at Mindenand Richmond, Mo.
