Irene M. Ackerman. 82 passed away Monday March 23th, 2015
in the Hershey Medical Center. She resided at Cedar Haven Nursing Home in Lebanon. She was the wife of the late Robert J. Ackerman
Irene was born in Mont Clare, PA on October 14, 1932. She was the daughter of the late Yolanda and Peter Wykstra. She completed nursing school in Pittsburgh, Pa and received a registered nursing degree. She worked as an RN and retired from The United Church of Christ Home in Annville.
She was a member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Lebanon, and loved cooking, baking, knitting and crocheting. She loved to draw, paint and do scrapbooking. She enjoyed raising her five children, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition Irene is survived by her children, Linda and her husband Stephen Mumma of Lebanon, Bob D. Ackerman and his wife Jane of Alaska, Cindy Rittle of Lebanon, Daniel J. Ackerman and his Fiancé Cindy King of Middletown, Jay P. Ackerman and his wife Brenda of Lebanon; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Edward Wykstra and Donald Wykstra.
Family and friends are invited to her funeral service on Friday at 12:00pm in the Rohland Funeral Home Inc., 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon, where a viewing will begin at 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be held in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
